MEET HELENA'S OWNER: Katherine Venzke is the founder and proprietor of Helena’s. A former television and corporate media professional who produced shows for PBS, The Annenberg Channel, and Animal Planet, Venzke left the industry to start a family in 2001. Free from the structured looks of the corporate workplace, Venzke began to build an everyday wardrobe. “While looking for great chic separates that I could wear everyday and everywhere, I immediately noticed a lack of boutiques catering to my demographic,” says Venzke. She set out to fill that gap in the marketplace and opened Helena’s, named for her then two-year-old daughter, in 2005.
